Meet Erika
Erika moved to Sun Valley in 2007 for the skiing—and quickly found a place she would call home. A former NCAA ski racer and graduate of the University of Utah, she was drawn not only to the world-class terrain but to the close-knit community that defines the Wood River Valley. Nearly two decades later, she is deeply rooted here, actively serving on multiple nonprofit boards and giving back wherever she can.
Early in her time in Sun Valley, Erika dedicated herself to the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation, starting as a coach then leading the academic program for more than a decade. That experience shaped her in a meaningful way—building lasting, trust-based relationships across the community and giving her an insider’s understanding of the valley that can only come from truly living it.
Erika and her husband, Carl Rixon—a fellow former ski racer and Sun Valley native—are raising their two boys, Ford and Banks, here in the community they love. Carl owns and operates Rixon Excavation, further grounding their family in the fabric of the valley. Together, they are proud to call Sun Valley home.
